CASTLEGAR – Effective Thursday, October 20, 2022, the Negro Creek fire weather station will be renamed Bigattini. Those looking for fire danger ratings, weather observations and/or fire weather indices from the Negro Creek station should now reference Bigattini. The station remains at 49.4539 N, -115.9872 W, elevation 1,540 metres.
Bigattini was chosen as it is the name of a nearby mountain in the Moyie Range.
