FORT NELSON ZONE – Wildfire risk in the Fort Nelson area has been significantly reduced due to months of suppression efforts and recent favourable weather conditions.
As a result of these efforts, firefighters and support resources can be redeployed to other areas of the province. The Incident Management Team that has been working in Fort Nelson since May will be demobilized over the weekend of July 27 and 28.
Firefighters, aircraft and other resources will remain within the Fort Nelson Zone to continue to manage existing fires and any future events. Further resources will be provided if fire activity increases.
