Crew History

The Columbia Unit Crew was formed in 2004 as a response to wildfires and subsequent firestorm report in 2003 to restore the province’s Type 1 Unit Crew compliment to 29. In 2012, the Columbia Unit Crew moved from the Revelstoke Dam to the airport to make room for an additional Unit Crew in the Zone. Also, in 2008, Andrea Jancika became the first and sole female crew supervisor for the Columbia Unit Crew.
