KAMLOOPS – The BC Wildfire Service has extended the implementation of an Area Restriction Order north of Heffley Creek in the area of Evergreen. This Order takes effect at 12:00 (noon) Pacific Daylight Time on September 9, 2022, and will remain in place until 12:00 (noon) on September 30, 2022, unless otherwise rescinded.
The purpose of this Order is to limit the risk of fire in the restricted area. This order applies to Crown land within the geographic boundaries as outlined on this map: http://ow.ly/xxJJ50KFEuq
Under this order and Section 11(2) of the Wildfire Act, a person must not remain in or enter the restricted area unless the person:
- First receives written authorization from an official designated for the purposes of the Wildfire Act; or,
- Enters the area only in the course of travelling as a person acting in an official capacity as defined in s.56 of the Wildfire Act.
